History of the Ukulele
Suitable for all audiences, even non-musical ones, this presentation follows the history of the instrument and its music through the 130 years of its existence. The three eras of popularity are explained and demonstrated with music of the appropriate eras, from its creation with the arrival of the Portuguese immigrants in Hawaii to modern day usage.
The program can be adjusted to fit a time period from 30 to 60 minutes and can include a full PowerPoint presentation if projection equipment is available.
Zen Ukulele Workshop
Based on the Zen Ukulele section of Unlock Your Ukulele, this 30 to 60 minute presentation is focused on providing hints and tricks to make playing the ukulele more fun and enjoyable. Designed for the beginner to intermediate player, this workshop shares many of the things I wish someone had told me in the first few months of playing.

Designed for the beginner to intermediate player, this workshop provides an introduction to the very basics of music theory. This leads into the concept of chord shapes and how to find alternate chords.

Ukulele Group Instruction
Final concert after five lessons, 30 minutes each with a group of enthusiastic new ukulele players. Thanks to Kala Instruments for providing Motor City Ukes with loaner instruments for teaching those that didn’t have their own!
